ORIENTATION MEETING OF GRADE 1 On August 28, 2016 an orientation was held at the ITHS Uttara Branch for the parents of Grade 1 students. The parents were cordially invited to get formally introduced to the administrators of the Junior Section and teachers. The orientation included information regarding several important aspects such as the students’ uniform, regular attendance, student code of conduct, and maintenance of order and discipline. The teachers briefed the parents on the school’s education system which included information on semester system, exams and quizzes, and emphasized on the importance of homework and assignments and regular communication between teachers and parents through diary. In order to ensure our students wellbeing, suggestions regarding bringing healthy food and snacks were made. Parents were also made familiar with the processes they needed to follow if their child is absent, or in case of setting up an appointment with any teacher or the authority. Information on several extracurricular activities related to clubs, various competitions, projects, and home visits were specified. Most importantly, the management assured the parents that they were always welcome to share their thoughts and concerns regarding their child or the school in general. ORIENTATION MEETING OF KG 1 An orientation meeting was held on 28th August, 2016, in our designated classrooms to warmly welcome the children at the new session and to share practical matters with parents as Nursery and KG-1 class has lots of differences. IHTS has arranged the orientation meeting to meet the curriculum expectations and provide healthy teaching and learning environment. The program has started with welcome speech by the Head of Section, Mr. Isa Guler. Then Roksana Zarin, Deputy Head of preschool, has introduced the supervisor, class teacher and co teacher accordingly. The objectives of the meeting were: -Describing the yearly activities briefly. -Reminding the parents “to do” and “not to do” things. -Seeking suggestions from parents. -Inform them about the rules and regulations of the school. -Changes of the medium to communicate with the teachers. -The assessment procedure. -Timings for tiffin and break time -Guidelines for parents. -Sharing views and experiences of and with the parents. -Clearing the queries parents had about the yearly plans. In Science, Class 2 Blue students are learning about five food groups: Fatty Food,Meat & Nuts, Sweet food,Fruits &Vegetables, Grains & Potatoes. Today,they brought one food item from each food group in their tiffin and learned practically by oral presentation of what were they eating & which food group it belonged to.
