Bangla Week - Bangla Culture and Food Festival

The last day of Bangla Week ended in colors, delicious Desi food, and exciting activities. After the morning assembly students were taken to the Senior Boys’ Section Auditorium for an exhilarating Bangla Quiz Competition. Later, the children enjoyed varieties of Bangladeshi food from the stalls that were organized by some of our eager parents. After that the students were invited to the Junior Section Auditorium for the Acting Competition where participants dressed and acted as some of the famous people in Bangladesh. The day ended with students watching a very well-known Bangla movie “Dipu Number 2” in the auditorium.


Bangla Week - Singing Competition

On the 4th day of Bangla Week, students took part in a Singing Competition that was held in the Junior Section Auditorium. Students were selected prior to the competition to take the stage and present their songs. Among the participants there were foreign students who also present beautiful rendition of Bangla songs with much enthusiasm.


Bangla Week - Debate Competition

On the 25th of October, as part of the Bangla Week celebration, a Debate Competition was organized for the students of grade 3 to 5. Selected students from each class and section were divided into groups of 3 to form 3 groups. Each group then competed against one another, and the judges graded them based on the organization and clarity of their speech, use of argument, use of rebuttal, and their presentation style.


Bangla Week Extempore Speech Competition

On the 3rd day of Bangla week, an Extempore Speech Competition was held in the Junior Section Auditorium. As this was an extempore speech the selected participants had to choose an unknown topic from a list of topics that the teachers had prepared prior to the competition. They were given 2 minutes to deliver their impromptu speech. The judges graded the participants based on the relevancy of their speech with the topic, use of language, pronunciation, proper use of time, and body language.

Bangla Week Poetry Competition

As part of the Bangla Week celebration, a Poetry Competition was organized in the Junior Section Auditorium on October 23, 2017. The selected participants had to recite poems from a list of poems that had been given to them prior to the competition. The judges scored them based on their expression, clarity, pronunciation, rhythm, and form.


Bangla Week Reading Competition

ITHS is currently celebrating Bangla Week throughout the Preschool and Junior Section. On October 22, 2017 a Reading Competition was held in the Junior Section Auditorium where the selected participants had to read excerpts from famous children’s Bangla story books. All the students present at the auditorium enjoyed the program, as well as encouraged and motivated their friends who were on stage. At the end of the program, the three judges tallied all their marks to decide the winners of the competition.
